There is something in Patricia Richer’s cuisine that immediately evokes travel. Now based in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot, in Lot-et-Garonne, the chef has built her career between Provence, Latin America and South-West France. A distinctive journey that now inspires each of her experiences as a private chef.
For Patricia, gastronomy is not simply a succession of techniques and recipes. It is a way of welcoming guests, telling the story of a place and creating a memorable moment around the table.
From Provence to Costa Rica
Originally from Provence and largely self-taught, Patricia Richer has been working in the culinary world for more than twenty-five years. After an initial experience in the restaurant industry in Sanary-sur-Mer, her career took an international turn when she moved to Costa Rica.
She spent fourteen years there and opened La Terrasse French Cuisine in San José, a restaurant dedicated to French cuisine with Provençal influences. Over the years, Patricia developed a style that remained connected to her roots while embracing the ingredients, colours and flavours she discovered in Latin America.
This long period abroad profoundly shaped her culinary identity. It taught her how to bring different cultures together while preserving the clarity of the ingredients and the foundations of French cuisine.
A new chapter in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot
After returning to France, Patricia Richer chose to settle in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot. Lot-et-Garonne offered her a new culinary landscape, in the heart of a region where local produce and gastronomic heritage play an essential role.
Rather than returning to the constraints of a traditional restaurant, she chose another way to practise her profession: becoming a private chef.
The concept perfectly reflects her approach to cooking. The restaurant comes to the client, and every occasion becomes a different experience shaped around the setting, the guests and the reason for gathering.
A private chef inspired by local produce, Provence and travel
Patricia Richer’s cuisine remains deeply influenced by her Provençal roots. She enjoys Mediterranean flavours, seasonal ingredients and the generous, sun-filled style of cooking in which presentation and pleasure naturally come together.
Her years in Latin America and her travels have also left their mark. In her dishes, ingredients from South-West France can meet inspirations from further afield, resulting in a personal, spontaneous and contemporary style of cuisine.
Patricia also places particular importance on homemade preparations and fresh ingredients. Her cooking is less about creating spectacle than finding the right balance between flavour, produce and the emotion experienced around the table.
A restaurant experience at home
As a private chef based in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot and working across Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Patricia approaches each service as a genuine gastronomic experience. Private dinners, birthdays, family gatherings or receptions in beautiful private residences: each menu can be adapted to the occasion and the wishes of her guests.
The experience does not necessarily end with the food itself. Service, presentation and attention to the table also contribute to her desire to recreate the spirit of a restaurant directly in the client’s home.
Her menus are available from €65 per person, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy a private dining experience built around a menu created with the chef, carefully selected ingredients and dishes prepared especially for the occasion.
A culinary journey expressed through books
Sharing and passing on her knowledge also play an important role in Patricia Richer’s career. The chef is an author and publisher of several books dedicated to food and travel.
Her passion for writing is a natural extension of her approach to cooking: preserving memories of the encounters, ingredients and places that have shaped her journey.
Her work has also led her to join several gastronomic networks, including the Disciples Escoffier, and to gain recognition beyond Lot-et-Garonne. In 2026, her career and cuisine received further recognition through her inclusion in the Guide Blanc.
A private chef in Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Today, Patricia Richer continues her activity from Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot, creating private culinary experiences throughout Lot-et-Garonne and, depending on the service, across Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Her journey also reflects the changing nature of the chef’s profession. After restaurants, expatriation and travel, gastronomy can now be experienced in a private home, estate or château, bringing the chef closer to the people discovering her cuisine.
It is a more intimate way of dining, where the chef leaves the traditional restaurant setting behind and brings her culinary story directly to the table.
